All the Things You Do… To Spoil Your Smile
Habits die hard. And bad habits just seem to take gigantic form. Do you know that regular brushing and flossing won’t help much if you have certain habits. Bad dental habits are often those that we don’t acknowledge as bad or even as habits. Confused? Read on.
Do you take pride in opening bottles with your teeth? I am sure you must have seen others doing it if you haven’t yourself. And as I always say, it does not take a Rambo to open a bottle this way. You may be flaunting the strength of your teeth by doing this but your teeth won’t remain strong for long if you keep doing this.
OK, let me confess one thing. I find picking teeth extremely gross, and I take an immediate dislike to the people who do it. No, that doesn’t mean, I don’t pick my teeth. I have to, at times, but I never do it in public view. Now, coming back to the bad habit, using the toothpick too frequently is bad enough but some people use almost anything to pick their teeth. That, my friend, is a real bad habit. Pins, matchsticks, forks have other uses; they were never made to remove food particles from between your teeth.
OK, grinding teeth is often a symptom of a problem, but some people do it as a habit. Grinding causes your teeth to chip badly, spoiling your smile in a big way.
Nail-biting is a favorite with writers, but when it jumps out of books and magazines right in front of you, it looks disgusting. It is an ugly habit. Nail-biting does not only harm your nails but also causes chipping of teeth.
You get the point. Make sure dental care is accompanied by good habits not the above-mentioned ugly ones.
Happy smiling!
