Are You Taking Care of Your Gums?

Published by Wayzata Dental Staff at 7:26 am under Gums

When most people think about going to the dentist they get caught up thinking about their teeth. But dental care isn’t just about your teeth: it’s also about your gums.

When you pay attention to your gums, it’s not hard to see the warning signs that say it’s time to see a dentist – warnings signs like:

  • red or tender gum tissue
  • gums that regularly bleed when you brush and floss your teeth
  • pus or blood around your teeth when you press on your gums
  • pulling away of your gums – a deterioration that makes it seem as though your teeth are getting longer

If you’re noticing any of these symptoms when you brush, floss or just look in the mirror, you’ll want to make sure that you set up an appointment with your dentist as soon as possible so the cause can be determined and a course of action can be planned for you.
