Dental Health and Food

The kind of food you eat has direct consequence on your smile. You need a healthy, balanced diet to be able to flaunt a gorgeous and healthy smile. Let me share with you some food tips for a great dental health.

  • You don’t have to ban sweets from your life in order to get healthy teeth. However, restrict sweets to meal times only. Avoid snacking on sweets between meals. It is almost a sin where dental care is concerned.
  • Love fruit juices? Now, try replacing it with whole fruits. The juice is responsible for eroding your teeth. The fruit is a better option. It does not damage your teeth, and it provides you the necessary fiber for a balanced diet. The fiber also helps clean your mouth.
  • During hunger pangs, reach out for a carrot or an apple. These two are considered cleansing foods as they help keep your teeth clean.
  • Eat food that is rich in calcium, fluoride, and vitamins. These nutrients are important for healthy teeth.
  • Make sure you eat some dairy product like milk, yogurt, and cheese everyday, preferably with all your meals.
  • Avoid drinking carbonated drinks like plague. If you have to take an odd sip or two at times, use a straw to do that.

Taking care of your teeth is not difficult if you want to. If you don’t, well, then don’t complain about dental problems!

Your dentist will be able to guide you on a diet for healthy teeth. Follow his/her instructions and your smile will continue to sparkle.

Happy smiling!
