Do You Have Stains on Your Teeth?
Stained teeth are an ugly sight. Call me mean spirited but I do make an opinion about people when I see their smiles sporting stains. Most of us do, don’t we? Stained teeth are a direct reflection of the person’s poor hygiene sense. Are your teeth stained too? Do you hide your teeth when you smile? If yes, this post is for you. If not, this post will help ensure you don’t show the stains in the future too.
What is it that causes those ugly spots on your teeth? Drinking caffeine-based beverages like tea or coffee, eating too much chocolate, drinking red wine or cola, smoking and certain medication cause your teeth to stain. While these are external factors, there could be some internal factors causing the problem. Yes, stained teeth may also mean that you have tooth decay; the decay causes parts of your teeth to become brown in color. Apart from this, teeth discoloration without an apparent reason may indicate that the teeth have been damaged because of some injury. If you practice good oral hygiene and yet have spots on your teeth, visit your dentist to find the underlying cause.
Many people wonder if the over-the-counter whitening products are any good. I won’t say they are absolutely bad. Some may help when the cause of the stains is external. However, the results are temporary if the cause of the problem is not dealt with. I would suggest asking your dentist before you buy those whitening products. Some of them may have bleaching agents, doing more harm to your teeth than any good.
A visit to the dental clinic will help you get rid of those stains immediately. Try the Zoom whitening treatment. The procedure can be performed in a matter of minutes, sparing you the agony of discomfort and pain.
Take care. Happy smiling!
