Do I need to clean my child’s mouth even before he starts teething?

If you child’s gums are not healthy, his/her teeth will not find a good base. Wipe your child’s tongue and gums with a clean cotton gauze after he/she has been fed. Try not to let him/her sleep with a bottle of milk in the mouth. This will lad to baby bottle decay.

How important it is to take care of a child’s milk teeth?

People often do not pay much attention to the care of primary teeth thinking that they will soon be replaced by permanent teeth. It is important to understand that the teeth give shape to a child’s face. They are the building blocks of the child’s visuals as well as the foundation for his/her permanent teeth.

Do children necessarily fall ill when they are teething?

No. All children don’t fall ill when they are teething. However, cases of diarrhoea, fever, and vomiting are noticed in some children when they teeth. The relation between the illnesses and teething is not evident. Visit your pediatrician for advice on taking care of your infant if he/she is ill. Don’t ignore professional help thinking the illness is normal.

Should I take my child to the dentist?

Take your child to the dentist as soon as he/she gets the first toot. Your dentist will tell you ways to take care of the baby’s teeth. In case, your child gets cavities in the teeth, rush to the dentist immediately.
