Get back to the basics of dental care
With only a few days left for the Valentine’s Day, we must gear up to flash our most dazzling smiles. Dental care basics are just that – basics. It’s not really difficult to get a scintillating smile if you put your heart to it. Let’s look at the basics of dental care.
- Brush after meals. You should brush at least two times a day.
- Floss everyday. Try flossing at least once a day.
- Clean your tongue once everyday.
While the above-mentioned pointers are the most basic in dental care, let us look at some more simple pointers for good dental health.
- Rinse after consuming anything.
- Drink plenty of water. Your mouth should always be hydrated. Drinking water also cleanses the mouth.
- Consume fruits everyday. Avoid the fruit juice that causes harm to the teeth.
- Use a refreshing mouthwash to rinse your mouth when you cannot brush your teeth after a meal.
- Wait for at least an hour after a meal before brushing the teeth. The acids in the food make teeth weak; brushing immediately after a meal will cause the enamel to erode.
- Change your toothbrush every three months or earlier if the bristles look tattered.
- Visit your dentist for a dental check-up every six months.
Happy smiling!
