Good Dental Habits

Sporting good dental habits is not only about following a proper dental care routine. It is about avoiding the bad dental habits and imbibing some good habits that are good for our oral well being. Let us look at some good dental habits.

Snacking the right way
In one of our earlier posts, we had listed the food items that serve as healthy snacks for our teeth and gums. It is important to know what to snack on when you are hungry. A fruit is a better idea than a pack of wafers or a bar of chocolate. Make it a habit to snack on the right food.

Taking in fluoride
Does your drinking water contain fluoride? If it does not, go for a fluoride toothpaste. Your dentist can help choose the right one for you.

Taking in calcium
Consume dairy products as much as you can. Milk, yogurt and other milk products are excellent sources of calcium. Calcium is very important for our teeth’s well-being.

Replace fruit juices with fruits
While fruits help keep our teeth and gums clean, fruit juices do more harm than good. It is better to eat a fruit than gulp down a glass of fruit juice. A fruit contains fiber that helps keep our mouth clean.

It is not too difficult to adhere to a dental care routine and imbibe some good dental habits, especially if you want to sport a charming smile throughout your life.

Happy smiling!
