Good Habits Can Keep Your Teeth Sparkling

Dental care is a matter of habit. If you don’t take care of your teeth regularly, you are definitely ruining your smile. The problems may not be immediately visible but pain and problems will follow if you keep ignoring dental care.

Here are some habits we think you should get into right away.

  • Brush after every meal. Without this, you cannot ensure a healthy smile.

  • Brush before you go to bed. This will make sure bacteria don’t play havoc in your mouth while you sleep.
  • Floss your teeth after you have brushed. Make sure you floss at least once everyday.
  • Gently scrape your tongue once everyday. Make sure you do not clean your tongue too hard.
  • Leave a gap of at least an hour after a meal before you pick up the toothbrush. The reason? The teeth are vulnerable immediately after you have finished a meal. Brushing earlier can harm the teeth.
  • Rinse your mouth well after you have eaten or drunk anything.
  • Use a good mouthwash to rinse your mouth once a day.
  • Drink 8-10 glasses of water on a daily basis. This helps keep your mouth clean and hydrated at all times, warding off several dental and gum problems.
  • Drink milk or eat yogurt but consume one dairy product everyday.
  • Bite into a fruit during one meal in a day. Avoid drinking fruit juices as the sweet liquid tends to erode the surface of the teeth.

The results of adopting these habits will soon reflect in your mirror.

Happy smiling!
