How Much Do You Know About Your Baby’s Teething?
We crib so much when we develop our wisdom teeth. Imagine the pain and the discomfort babies go through when they are teething. Our babies can’t even express themselves or seek remedies like we can. As elders, we need to be sensitive towards their need and pay extra attention to them when they are teething.
Typically, the teething process starts when your baby is around six months old. For some children, teething can begin when the baby is just three months old. At times, a child can start teething only after she has completed a year. It is important that you don’t panic about early or late teething. In fact, don’t panic about it at all. Just be aware.
It is recommended that you take your baby to the dentist when she gets her first tooth. The pediatric dentist will make sure that the tooth development is right.
Your baby is more likely to get her lower front teeth before the upper front teeth. She will have 20 primary teeth by the time she is three. Feeding your baby may become troublesome during her teething phase. This is because of the discomfort she is facing with the growing teeth.
When she is teething, your baby may want to chew on anything she finds accessible. So, make sure that she has access to safe objects like teething rings. Clean the baby’s teeth, gums, and tongue on a regular basis. It is important that you take utmost care of your baby’s primary teeth because they lay the foundation for permanent teeth and are responsible for giving shape to your baby’s face.
Getting sick during teething is not normal. Let your pediatrician and dentist know if your baby is not keeping well.
