Oral Hygiene or the Lack of it May Define Your Character
Have you ever found yourself judging people based on the cleanliness of their teeth and the smell of their breath? I must confess, I have. I often find myself ignoring such people’s opinions or at times, even their presence. I know, judging people based on how they appear is not the right thing to do but there is something about the absence of basic hygiene that makes you apprehensive of them.
Oral hygiene refers to the practice of keeping the mouth clean to prevent diseases and maintain good oral health. And yet, we don’t make that little extra effort to keep our teeth and gums healthy. Are you one of them who are letting people judge them by looking at their teeth? Oral care is not important just because people should take notice of you. It is important because it helps you become confident and avoids unnecessary pain and problems.
If you are wondering what you need to do in order to maintain good oral hygiene, let me share the basics with you in this post. Start with following a good dental care routine. Drink plenty of water, after consuming beverages, sweets, or even otherwise. Water helps cleanse your mouth and your entire system. It also helps keep your mouth salivated. Avoid eating anything sweet between meals. Sugar is well taken in by the body when consumed with a meal. Avoid food and beverages that can stain your teeth. You know what we are talking about. Cut down on smoking and drinking coffee and red wine. Do not ignore any tooth while brushing. And make sure you keep all the appointments with your dentist.
Happy smiling!
