Ways People Find to Harm Their Teeth
Most of us have a bad habit without even realizing we have one. With respect to dental health, your bad habits can wreak havoc if you don’t stop indulging in them. Let’s look at what people do that can harm their dental health.
If you open bottles with your teeth, you are no Rambo! If you have this horrible habit, you are risking chipping and damaging your teeth. Spare the teeth, get an opener!
If you pick your teeth with anything you can get your hands on, you are injuring your teeth. Even overusing toothpicks is a bad habit. People who use pins, matchsticks, forks to pick their teeth are damaging their gums badly.
If you grind your teeth, well, you know what you are doing to your teeth. Some of us grind our teeth when angry, others do it for no reason. Grinding results in chipping of teeth.
If you bite your nails, stop it at once. Nail-biting not only harms your nails it also causes chipping of teeth. Find yourself another fidgeting habit for those nail-biting races!
Smoking, well, it is bad for you. Period. The effects of smoking on your dental health includes stained teeth, damaged teeth, bad breath and gum diseases. If you want to sport a healthy smile, you have to kick the butt.
If you have managed to harm you teeth and gums because of these habits, get your dentist to treat the problems and pave the way to healthier, happier teeth.
Happy smiling!
