What Are Your Dental Care Habits?
This blog has warned you against bad dental habits in the past. So, what are good dental habits? Do you have any? Today’s post looks at some habits you should develop if you want to wow the world with your smile.
- Make it a point to brush after every meal. If that’s not possible all the time, rinse your mouth thoroughly. If you do brush, it is important that you brush at least an hour after a meal.
- Brush before going to bed. The bacteria flourish when you are asleep. Make sure you get rid of food debris in your mouth before you go to bed.
- Spend at least three minutes on brushing your teeth. Use a toothbrush with soft bristles.
- Floss your teeth immediately after you have brushed. This will help keep the mouth clean.
- Clean your tongue using a tongue scrapper once a day. Make sure you do not scrape too hard.
- Make it a point to rinse your mouth after consuming anything, even if it a couple of wafers or a sip of juice.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day. This will keep your mouth hydrated and clean.
- Restrict eating sweets to meal times. Snacking on sweets between meals is not good for your teeth.
- Replace fruit juices with whole fruits.
- Drink milk or consume at least one dairy product everyday.
- Include fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. They will provide you all the necessary nutrients for healthy teeth and a sparkling smile.
Really not too difficult to adopt, are they? Happy smiling!
