When Do You Visit the Dental Clinic?
We say you should visit the dentist every six months. Well, that takes care of most of the problems, but do you avoid going to the dental clinic otherwise? You should not rule out going to the dentist any other time. There are certain dental conditions that need immediate attention. So, make it a point to visit the dentist in the following scenarios:
- If your gums are swollen or red
This is a symptom of a gum disease. Do not wait for the gums to become normal on their on. Visit your dentist before you aggravate your condition. - If you have been suffering from toothache for more than two days
Toothache can be an indication of an infection or cavities. - If your gums have been bleeding for more than two days
Bleeding gums is not normal. Watch out for any other dental/oral problem and inform your dentist. - If you have visible, hard deposits on the surface of your teeth
These deposits are tartar. Go to your dentist to get them removed. Start following a proper dental care routine. - If your teeth are stained
There could be many reasons for the staining of your teeth. However, do not wait for your bi-annual visit to the dentist to find the reason. - If you have suffered a dental injury causing you to lose a tooth
If you can find the tooth, try fitting it in your mouth in its place and rush to the dentist at once. If you cannot fit the tooth, dip it in some milk and carry it that way to the dentist immediately. Your dentist can fix the tooth back in its place.
Immediate action can prevent a lifetime of problems.
Happy smiling!
