Where You May Be Going Wrong in Taking Care of Your Smile

You think you take proper care of your teeth, visit your dentist every six months, and yet you find certain dental problems troubling you from time to time. Is there something you are doing wrong? Not sure about that? Answer the questions below and find out for yourself.

Do you take care of only the visible teeth?
Someone once said, “You don’t have to brush your teeth – just the ones you want to keep.” If you want to keep only a few of your teeth, go ahead and ignore the rest.

Do you use an old and tattered toothbrush?
Really, would you wear a tattered dress? If no, then how come you want to keep using a tattered toothbrush? Have mercy on your teeth and get a new brush. Changing your toothbrush every three months at least should not be a big deal.

Do you skip brushing your teeth after the last meal of the day?
OK, you do not eat starchy or sugary food before you hit the sack, but are you making sure that this habit of yours is being helpful? If you do not clean your teeth before going to bed, other good dental habits will not help you much. Bacteria play and flourish in your mouth while you sleep. Grab that toothbrush before hitting the bed.

Do you ignore dental problems often?
A toothache or bleeding gums don’t affect you much. You think these are temporary. Pause and analyze – you may be ignoring the warning signs of a dental problem. Do not ignore any dental problem; seek expert help at once.

Avoiding bad dental habits is as important as inculcating good ones. Happy smiling!
