Your Eating Habits Affect the Way Your Smile Looks
What you eat can make or break your smile. And I am not just referring to the strong-flavored food that gives you bad breath, which is more likely to rob the smiles off other people’s faces. What you eat and the way you eat affect your smile directly. Let’s find out how.
- Food rich in calcium, fluoride, and vitamins give you healthy teeth. It is a good idea to make such food a part of your daily diet.
- Including dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese in your meals everyday help make your teeth stronger.
- If you love your smile, you have to do away with drinking sodas. The carbonated drinks cause the erosion of your teeth enamel.
- Try avoiding fruit juices. Opt for the whole fruit instead. The juice erodes your teeth, and the fruit adds that much-needed fiber.
- If you have to have a sip or two of a juice or a carbonated drink, use a straw.
- Try to restrict sweets to meal times only. Avoid snacking on sweets between meals. It is almost a sin where dental care is concerned.
- When you are hungry between meals, reach out for a carrot or an apple. These are considered cleansing foods as they help keep your teeth clean.
You get the idea, don’t you? Along with good dental care, you need a good diet to boast of a smile that wins everyone over. And it is not really difficult but a matter of stocking the fridge with the right kind of food.
Happy smiling!
