Your Headache May be Linked to Your Dental Health
Yes, body parts are linked to one another. Does that mean a problem in the mouth can cause a throbbing pain in the head? Surprisingly, yes! The next time you have a pain, don’t blame the annoying boss or the exasperating traffic on your way back home. The cause of your headache may be right inside your mouth.
There are certain indicators that suggest if your headache has anything to do with your dental well-being. Here’s what you should look out for:
- Your head has become sensitive to touch.
- You have pain behind the eyes.
- You feel some pain in the ears.
- You can hear a clicking sound in the jaw bones.
- Your jaw appears stiff.
- You have developed the habit of grinding your teeth.
- You have started clenching your teeth.
- You feel dizzy at times.
- You feel buzzing in your ears.
If your headache bothers you for more than two days, there is definitely a problem. See your doctor. And if you have noticed one or more of the indicators mentioned above, mention it to your doctor and seek an appointment with your dentist. The indicators suggest that there is misalignment of your jaws, something your dentist will be able to rectify.
I have always said that you should never ignore a symptom of a dental problem. From now on, don’t ignore your headaches either. Your dentist may have the cure for it. Visiting the dentist regularly will ensure that problems are prevented before they can trouble you.
Happy smiling!
